Subject: Don't forget to have FUN...
Hello!,

It’s December 24th and if you celebrate Christmas, you are probably putting the finishing touches on your preparations for tonight and tomorrow.

Here at our home, we are getting ready for the arrival of Santa Claus tonight and an early morning departure to a deserted island of the Pacific Coast of Panama tomorrow… (Yes, we are going OFF the grid for a full 12 days!)

In the spirit of the holidays, I wanted to share a thought that came to me as I viewed a corporate holiday video.

https://vimeo.com/149189865

I’m not associated with this firm, nor do I really know them; but I thought the video was great and their perspective even better. It got me thinking...

What is the role of FUN in our everyday work/life balance?

The video tells more about the firm than any words can-- It talks about:

  • Passion: For the work they do.

  • Trust: You can only have fun and let loose with your supervisors when you feel safe!

  • Commitment: If you read the note at the beginning of the video, it was created to invite employees to their holiday party and reflects their commitment to celebrate the team.

So, what does all this mean for you, my dear reader?

It all comes down to HOMEWORK!

(Yes, homework for you this holiday season.)

How will you incorporate more fun into your life and work in 2016?

Here are some questions that might help you design FUN for 2016:

  • What was fun for you when you were a kid?

  • How much of that do you have in your life right now?

  • Look at your daily routine-- what part of you needs some jazzing up?

  • Make a list of concrete habits or perspectives you will incorporate in your daily life in 2016.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas and hold your family close tonight as you celebrate with those you love.

From my home to yours,
